Historic Ramsey House is now on its seasonal schedule and open for tours only on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours are at the top of each hour, with the last one leaving at 3:00PM. Come visit us to explore the history and beauty of this historic site!

*HHMK Combo Tickets include single admission to Blount Mansion, Mabry-Hazen House, Crescent Bend, Marble Springs State Historic Site, James White’s Fort, Historic Ramsey House, Historic Westwood, and the East Tennessee Historical Society. Combo tickets may not be used for special events. Combo tickets can be purchased at any of the historic house museums listed above. Combo tickets do not expire.

How long does a tour typically last?
Each tour includes a 15 minute video followed by a 40-45 minute guided tour through the Historic Ramsey House.

Can I do a self-guided tour?
Only for specific special events do we allow visitors to conduct a self-guided tour. Our regular, daily tours are all guided by a trained docent.

Can I bring food and/or drink in the Historic Ramsey House?
In order to protect the historic home and the objects within it, we do not allow food and drink while on a tour of the Historic Ramsey House.

Am I allowed to take photographs while on a guided tour of the Historic Ramsey House?
We do allow photography during guided tours, but ask that you refrain from using a flash. We do not, however, allow video unless given permission by the Executive Director.

How many stairs are there during a guided tour?
In order to enter into the house, there are 5 stone steps into the kitchen, followed by 18 steps up to the second floor. Handrails are available for use throughout the historic home. There are also chairs located in each room that are available to sit in should you need a spot to rest.

Is the Historic Ramsey House ADA accessible?
While the historic home is not 100% ADA accessible, we do offer a virtual tour upon request. Our Visitor Center, which includes our restrooms and gift shop, is ADA accessible.

Am I allowed to bring my pet?
Yes! Pets are welcome on the grounds, but we do ask that you pick up after your pet and that they remain on a leash. Also keep in mind that it can be extremely warm during the summer months. Don't forget some extra water for your furry friend! Pets are not allowed inside the historic home.
