Families of the Fork Reunion ~ Free

Saturday, August 31st, 2024
10:00am - 2:00pm

Join your Families of the Fork group for its second reunion on Saturday, August 31st, form 11 to 2 o’clock at Historic Ramsey House. The event is free, but food trucks will be on site for purchasing a meal or dessert. A large tent, tables, and chairs will be provided, along with the opportunity to connect with others whose roots lie in the lands of Knox County between the French Broad and Holston Rivers, all the way to the Jefferson and Sevier County lines.

Set up will begin at 10. If you like, bring a market tent and table where you can share your family histories, photos, and memorabilia with others who might have attended Sunnyview, Carter, Asbury, Ramsey, Marbledale, Riverdale, Midway, Thorn Grove, or Union Elementary schools. Invite your Fork church friends and relatives to reminisce with you of days gone by! Genealogy resources will also be available.

Ramsey House, located at 2614 Thorn Grove Pike, served over time as a post office, polling place, educational facility, and center of civic activity for Fork residents. It continues today as a museum that offers tours, workshops, meeting space, and special events for the public.

This gathering, on Saturday of the Labor Day weekend, is part of the annual Ancient Sounds Festival, which is our largest fundraiser of the year. Tickets for the Friday evening dinner and/or Sunday music festival may be purchased at RamseyHouse.org.
